Finishing
It's turning out to be a 5 week challenge but that is ok. My aim is to finish it this weekend!

Mmmmmmmmmmmm
We are rubbish at sticking to a deadline....isn't that cool? I am part way through embellishing and I have sort of figured out how I will form it into something 3D. That would involve having to add something to make it stand up...just on one side....so I'm thinking a rather elaborate fabric rolled bead as long as one side. Think it will work!

Embellishing
Running late on this stage. I jammed a needle into the end of my thumb and thought nothing of it just a bit of ouch. But everytime I think I will stitch, it starts to bleed. Okay, I put on a bandaid which means that holding a needle isn't all that much fun. Oh well, I thought I'd just machine embellish then I remembered oops 3 postcards must be in the mail by Monday! It is a Whisper challenge and the card I received is so 'blah' (a pink flower) I can't think of what to do so I just prevaricated! Now, I really have to do it!
You came to the rescue though as you sent me a piece covered in big pink flowers....I fme'd around the flowers and now have cut out paper dolls to go across the card.... not very inspiring but when the original isn't inspiring it is hard to get creative.
Be back to our challenge as soon as I finish them today.

Part Three and Reconstruction
Chopped it up last night and couldn't see anyway to reconstruct it. Left it until this morning and had a play around and voila, it came to me. I used a sort of wide herringbone to put it together. Can sort of see where I am going next but that will have to wait as I've still got the ATCs to make (did the postcard last night)

Have you seen the online classes that CPS and QA are offering. One or two sound interesting. Perhaps that would be a way of challenging ourselves????

Stitching

I like that...another QA inspiration? Wasn't there an article about it? I thought it very clever.
I have been making ATC for a trade and after thinking 4 would be enough I was inundated with request to swap! I actually made 5 as I have decided that from now on I am keeping one of every ATC or P/C I make. I just don't have samples of my work...I keep giving them away!
Here's a pic ....I went to a rusting workshop and I have used fabrics I dipped and rusted there & then...instant result, instant use!
I will get onto embellishing our challenge. Of course that could change at any moment....Susan is 8days overdue so any day she could have this baby. The reason I have some extra time as I was expecting to be looking after Leila!
Part 2
Here is my piece of fabric stitched. Wasn't too sure about it amd it looks a bit lumpy in the pic but I am reasonably pleased with it. I liked using the paintsticks. It's sods law but I originally wanted to use some water soluble crayons but couldn't find them but what did I find last night , yep the crayons!! Why I had put them there I really don't know.
By attaching it to felt it has become quite firm which I like and think will help with the embellishing. Can't wait for that bit!

Colours
It is the same piece of fabric though the first photos look a totally different colour. My camera was set of some obscure setting I have never used....no doubt an adult child thinking they knew better than me!!!
Cut....
I flipped it over, ruled lines on the back and cut....I did it in about 30 seconds otherwise I would have tried to think it through as we know the next step. I had to pretend I didn't!
Not sure what I will now sew it to. Whether to go for another colour and not completely join the pieces leaving a gap as one in QA. The examples in QA looked 'lined' so that is another layer....mind you we don't have to do anything we don't want to!
Quilt/stitch
I have my fabric on felt and as that always catches in my machine there is Tear Away under that.
The thread is a reel of variegated I bought about 3 years ago for some project or other but didn't suit. It worked perfectly on this.
Now the scary cutting bit!
I tried to change the Christmas theme on here but it wouldn't let me do it!
